Karen Weinstein has spent a lifetime helping families and students make a better life for themselves. She has championed accessible college opportunities for all. She currently sits on the Peralta District Citizens Advisory Committee, is a Board Member of the Berkeley Public Schools Fund and is Vice-Chair of the Berkeley Commission on the Status of Women. Student success, equity, access and excellence in education are her goals for all students, whether on a career path or bound for a four year university. That’s why she focuses on helping students who are veterans or formerly incarcerated students. She serves as community liaison for the Dreamers and Undocumented Student Task Force and is a member of Berkeley City College’s President’s Advisory Board. Last year, Karen was acknowledged for her leadership with a Berkeley City College award for her “unshakable commitment to transforming student lives at Berkeley City College.”
